Conductive foam is made by extrusion molding, so the width and height of the mold must be considered, and the length can be cut according to needs. There are many application specifications of conductive foam, and many can be made according to needs. Conductive cloth foam is a molded body made of conductive cloth and PU foam fused and covered by a hot sol film. Conductive foam of different sizes is produced through an introduction mold, a forming mold and a shaping mold.
Due to its good conductive properties and its own resilience, it can be placed between mechanical bodies to make the contact surface conductive, thereby solving EMI or ESD problems. Conductive foam is mostly defined as PU foam covered with conductive cloth, but in fact it is just a long-term and common colloquial habit in the industry; if necessary, PU foam can also be changed to other materials.
Conductive foam is often covered with conductive adhesive (non-conductive adhesive can also be used) on one side, and is pasted on the grounded side of the circuit board. The other side contacts the surface of the metal structure to apply pressure; conduction is achieved through the surface of the conductive cloth and the conductive particles of the conductive adhesive. The characteristics of the conductive cloth on the surface of the conductive foam can effectively provide electromagnetic wave shielding and conductivity. The function of grounding; conductive foam is usually attached to the ground side of the mechanism or electronic circuit with conductive tape. The bottom side of the conductive foam is covered with conductive adhesive and attached to the mechanism or the location where the short circuit effect is to be produced. The compressed response force of the PU foam is used to exert force on the reverse endpoint, thereby producing a conductive effect and regional shielding between the mechanisms.
